Description
We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney to assist with overflow Title Opinion work on a fully remote, contract basis. This role is ideal for attorneys who maintain their own practice, balance other professional commitments, or prefer flexible, projectbased work. A minimum of two years’ experience drafting title opinions is required. Hours are flexible and based on your availability and the needs of the firm.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive title examinations for oil and gas properties, including HBP, fee, and leasehold interests.
Draft drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions.
Identify title defects and prepare clear, practical curative recommendations.
Review and analyze Deeds, Leases, Assignments, Runsheets, Probate Records, and related title documents.
Qualifications
Active license with the State Bar of Texas (required).
2+ years of oil and gas title examination and title opinion drafting experience
Strong working knowledge of Texas oil and gas law.
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment using digital records and online research systems.
